You can explore the winter forest in the Beech northern limit village. Our supportive local guide will take you into true nature. The huge tree that suddenly appears in the mysterious winter forest is a masterpiece.
You cannot reach this giant tree in summer as it is blocked by deep Bamboo leaves in the deep forest.
However, you can walk freely during the winter when Bamboo leaf is buried in the snow.
Why don't you wear snowshoes and look for the huge Taxus tree that lives long in Kuromatsunai?
Let's replenish the energy of nature while drinking warm tea under a giant tree! !

Kuromatsunai is the northernmost land of Beech forest in Japan and be called “Northernmost Beech Village”. The beech forest has moistened the earth as a "green dam" and has continued to return its blessings to the region. We support the beech forest in the northern limit, which has been protected from the dangers of many logging. The beech forest and people who live here are our tourism resource for experiential exchanges.
In the deep woods, put on your snowshoes and see the beech forests and the giant trees live long!
